Believed to be the jewel of Solano County by most who visit, Old Green Valley is a unique and wonderful place to call home. Developed long before the term “Zero Lot Line” was devised, nearly every home-site is at least a third of an acre. Green Valley can best be described as Solano County's Moraga.
There are several different mini neighborhoods that are scattered throughout the Valley floor. “The Estates” are a collection of ranch style homes ranging from 1,400 – 3,000 square feet. The majority of these homes are on at least a third of an acre and all have level lots. Some residents refer to this area as “The Flats”. The Highlands closely resemble some of the communities in Marin County, Moraga and Dublin. The majority of these hillside estates offer tremendous views and/or privacy. The homes and home sites are typically larger in size, 1,800 – 6,500 square feet and 1 to 2.5 acres respectively. There are also several properties that border the Golf Course at Green Valley Country Club. Many people have started to renovate these older homes, bringing a more modern look to the Valley. Conveniently located in the middle of all of these communities, Green Valley Country Club is a Members Only, golf-centric, Equity based club with slightly more than 450 members. The Club and its Historic Mansion was in operation long before the majority of the homes in the Valley were built. A great place to bring the family in the summer, GVCC has a large pool with a snack shack, six lighted tennis courts, The Terrace (for less formal dining), the Mansion (for formal events) and, of course, the well-manicured Golf Course.
Older Green Valley has its own microclimate, with limited wind and beautiful weather even in the winter. While Solano County is known for being windy, Green Valley is well protected by the surrounding hills. Fog burns off earlier than in other parts of the County, the wind isn’t as severe and many times, the rain side steps this little known sanctuary. Prices range from $400,000 (Condominiums) to $2,500,000. Only 4 miles away from the freeway and 10 minutes from town, Green Valley is Solano County’s best kept secret.
