Suisun City is a San Francisco Bay Area gem with a touch of Cape Cod charm. It is a great spot for a Bay Area day trip or overnight getaway. The waterfront promenade of Suisun City’s historic Waterfront District boasts beautiful views and serves as an ideal setting for the myriad of outdoor activities and dining choices. Biking: Bring your bicycle for a day of cycling on the quiet country roads of the Suisun City area. Wander through farm fields and ride along the banks of the Suisun Bay and the calm waters of the California Delta. For the more urban rider, follow the recently completed section of the Central County Bikeway connecting Suisun City together with neighboring regions.
Bird Watching: Excellent bird watching opportunities abound in Suisun City, especially in the open spaces of the protected Rush Ranch. Rush Ranch supports more than 200 species and 47 families of plants, 15 mammal species and 123 bird species. Three self-guided trails lead through grasslands, provide spectacular views and take you along the edges of the Suisun Marsh. The Suisun Marsh gained national notoriety in 2008 when a rare snowy owl made its home in the marsh for a few weeks, bringing bird lovers from all over to catch a glimpse of this magnificent owl.

Boating: Sail, motor or cruise the relaxing water of the California Delta from the Suisun City Waterfront. Offering public launching facilities to accommodate the weekend boater and slips for rent to house your boat. Parking passes are available for daily, monthly, and yearly use. The Solano Yacht Club, founded in 1954, is located right on the Suisun City Marina, providing plenty of dock space for both members and visiting yacht club, and pump out and fueling stations nearby. Fishing: The Waterfront District of Suisun City is an ideal spot for a day of great fishing. Cast your line from the Suisun City Fishing Pier, or put in your boat at the Suisun City Boat Launch and motor over to Grizzly Island’s waters which are home to striped bass, white catfish, white sturgeon, black crappie, and even the occasional largemouth bass. A fishing license is required and can be obtained at local bait and tackle shops.
